2023 September Newsletter

High School and Middle School seasons are officially in full swing! We look forward to seeing our Empowered family compete together and through the net. If you catch any of our Empowered directors or coaches at a game, don’t be afraid to come say hello! We love catching up with our athletes and parents while we wait for you to be back in the gym with us 🙂 High School Prep Tryouts, OVC Tryouts, and Boys Volleyball will be here sooner than you think. We will still be hosting individual lessons for high schoolers and individual or group lessons for middle schoolers and down. Don’t forget that we also have adult programming year-round with our adult beach leagues and our Friday night open play that continues to grow. Thank you again for all of your support and please keep reading to see all that we have upcoming for our junior and adult players.   

Otis Spunkmeyer Fundraiser

There are two weeks left of the Otis Spunkmeyer Extravaganza. The Extravaganza brochure has something for everyone! Supporters can buy online or purchase through you by sharing the brochure. Brochures are currently available at the front desk. All sellers must register. Directions to do so are attached to the brochure as well as a flier explaining how orders can be collected and paid for. All orders will be due to the club no later than September 15, 2023 at 7pm and can be turned into the front desk. Orders will be delivered 2-4 weeks after purchase! Please note that the club will not be collecting cash. After collecting from you supporters, make sure you write ONE check payable to Empowered Sports Club. Boys Volleyball

We are itching closer to the start of our Boys Volleyball Season starting October 3rd! To get prepared, a new month of Boys “Train and Plays” start September 5th! Come train before the season starts every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8pm. Training will go from 6-7pm followed by open play from 7-8pm. Train and Play features an hour of training, plus an hour of open play led by Empowered Master Coaches! Fee: $20 per athlete per session. High School Prep Tryouts

High School Prep Tryouts are set for Sunday, October 15th! If you did not sign up for our College Prep Tryouts in July, you can register on our website! 10-13U will be from 12-1:30pm, 14U will be from 2-3:30pm, and 15-18U will be from 4-5:30pm. All tryouts will be held at Empowered Sports Club (12124 Lima Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46818). The tryout registration fee is $100 per athlete and each player will receive a tryout t-shirt that will be used as one of their practice shirts. OVC Tryouts

OVC Tryouts are set for October 8th at Whitko High School Gym. 10-12U will be from 2:30-3:45pm, 13-14U (current 7th/8th grade students) will be from 4-5:30pm. Our early bird tryout fee of $50 is currently going on and will conclude September 15th. Regular registration at $65 will be open until October 7th and late registration/walkup registration is set at $100. A callback will be used if needed to roster teams. Make sure you attend the informational meeting on September 17th at 5pm in the Whitko High School Gym for more information! 

Fall Developmental Program

Train, compete, and further your athletic development with our Fall Developmental Program designed for Boy and Girls, 4th-8th Grade! We have three 4-week sessions starting September 10th from 3:30-5:30pm. Register now to secure your spot! If you have any questions, please contact: janelle@empoweredsportsclub.com 

Volleytots

VolleyTots will continue every Sunday in September: 10th, 17th, 24th, October 1st. 5-8 year old boys and girls will practice from 1-2pm while 9-12 year old boys and girls will practice from 2-3pm. Practices are designed to teach boys and girls the FUNdamentals of volleyball through proper technique and skill training on the sand and on the hardcourt. The tots will increase their volleyball knowledge all while having fun with our professional level coaches! Message josh@empoweredsportsclub.com for any questions.

Empowered Mental Health Program

Individual Lessons

Lessons are a great way for players to separate themselves and there is no better way to get their team to the next level then by adding new skills or expanding your existing skills range and effectiveness through individual or small group lessons.
